New York Bread Dreamers

New York Bread Dreamers is a New York City–based youth basketball organization built on development, exposure, discipline, and opportunity. The program was founded with the vision of creating a serious and structured environment where players can grow their skills, compete at a high level, and gain real exposure.

We are committed to building not just basketball players, but disciplined and confident young athletes who understand teamwork, accountability, and consistency. Through practices, tournaments, travel opportunities, and mentorship, our program continues to provide players with a platform to elevate their game and represent themselves at a high level.

Founder, Head Owner & Director

Coach Reginald Rothwell

Coach Reginald Rothwell, Founder and Head Owner & Director of New York Bread Dreamers, brings strong playing experience and leadership into the organization. His background as a player at both the AAU and high school levels has played a major role in shaping the foundation and direction of the program.

Coach Rothwell played AAU basketball alongside multiple competitive teams that consistently competed against high-level talent. Through his AAU experience, he gained firsthand knowledge of the pace, intensity, and expectations required to succeed in competitive basketball environments.

During his high school career, Coach Rothwell attended Tottenville High School, where he played as a guard, known for his scoring ability, decision-making, and leadership on the court. Throughout his time there, he averaged 15 points per game, showing consistency as an offensive contributor while also managing the flow of the game.

As a guard, he developed a strong understanding of:

Game control and tempo
Shot creation and scoring
Ball handling and decision-making
Leadership on the court

These experiences helped shape his basketball IQ and his ability to read the game, skills that he now passes down to the players within the program.

Coaching Philosophy

Coach Rothwell’s coaching philosophy is built around real development and accountability. He believes that every player should be pushed to improve in all areas of the game while also being held to a high standard.

His approach focuses on:

He emphasizes creating an environment where players are challenged, supported, and motivated to reach their full potential.

Under his leadership, the program continues to expand and compete in high-level events, providing players with opportunities to travel, gain exposure, and compete against strong competition.
